Begin with the patient acuity and course outcomes. AGACNP preparation concerns episodic, complex, and critical illness across adulthood and older adulthood, including frail older adults. It is not an FNP or adult-gerontology primary-care rotation, and an ambulatory setting does not become acute care simply because an NP works there.
